About This Breach

"The gaming forum ""Gamerzplanet"" faced a significant breach in October 2015, compromising over 1.2 million user accounts, including email addresses, IP addresses, passwords, and usernames. This vulnerability originated from a flaw in vBulletin's security system which inadequately stored IP addresses and passwords as salted hashes. While they updated to a more secure salted hash system, prior hashes remained unchanged, leaving a sizable vulnerability."
